    We have been in the retail/mail order business for over 20 years. We suggest that you follow these tips to reduce your chances of being ripped off.

    Sellers:
    * Ship your items COD cash only, or set up a PayPal or Escrow.com account and only accept payments from verified users. We do not suggest you take money orders or cashier checks or personal checks under any circumstances unless you have a merchant check guarantee program in place. There are too many fake checks being used. A fake MO or cashier's check will show as a deposit but will be returned up to 14 days later and your account will be debited.
    * Request that UPS, FedEx and other carriers not deliver the box without the specified form of payment for the exact amount. You can not do this with the postal service, so spend the extra few dollars and do it right.
    * There is significant fraud by overseas scammers and as much as we would like to support our fellow hams around the world, there are certain areas where there are just too many crooks. So we are suggesting that you do not ship overseas without some form of deposit in advance or that you use COD US$ cash, PayPal or Escow.com, OR THAT YOU CAN VERIFY THE BUYER. DO NOT fall for the email or telephone call about an agent pick-up, etc. and do not accept a larger payment and refund the excess amount.

    Buyers:
    * Do not pay for anything in advance of delivery. * Use PayPal or Escrow.com and only deal with verified accounts.
    * Do not send your trade in advance of getting another item. Use UPS or FedEx call tags. You can instruct the carrier to deliver only if another item is available for pickup at the same time.
    * Know who you are dealing with: get an address, phone number and name and call that person back to be sure the phone number is valid. EMAIL IS NOT SUFFICIENT. Spend the money on a phone call.
    *Ask a lot of ham radio technical questions. If you feel uncomfortable, don't do the deal.
    * Don't work with shipping agents or people that sound like they are telling a story ... they are.
    * DO NOT give your credt card to anyone from an Eastern European county or an African nation.

  • FlexRadio 100watt SDR-1000 with FA-66 and USB adpt
    I have a FlexRadio SDR1000 for sale, it has the 100watt PA with the later 8 pin mic connection. This rig is one of the later SDR1000's made and has all of the updates. Included with the rig is a Edirol FA-66 firewire soundcard that allows you to have up to a 196khz wide panadapter, but can be switched to 96 or 48khz as well. Also has direct connections on it for 3 pin xlr microphones so you can use any studio mike with the rig easily if you like. Also included is a USB to parallel adapter, and I will include a parallel PCI adapter card (better way to control the rig in my opinion) I have modified the SDR1000 internally by cutting away the mesh metal behind the 80mm fan that cools the PA module. Due to this being removed the PA runs cooler and the fan is much quieter. Externally you can not tell this has been done and everything looks fine. SDR1000+FA-66+ hookup cables+ USB adapter and PCI parallel card $850 or trade outright for a ALS-600 amp. Price includes shipping Conus. Anything outside would have to be negotiated.     Disabled Ham on Canada Pension Plan Disability. Asking for a donation of any type of transceiver or even old trnsmitter. I had to sell everything I had due to a neurological disease that led to intense and deathly pain from even the slightest touch of clothes on the mid body. I was misdiagnosed and could have healed now it may be a life long thing under the control of many drugs including the deadly Fentynal (80 time more powerful than morphine).Now my feet have gone all numb and either have nerve damage or diabetes, only one of the two a Neurologits claims. Just great. Getting the workmans pension of 34 years of hard was not easy. The gov't beauocray is slow. And to make matters worse I made a mistake on the forms and had to appeal which added months to the conclusion and landed up in a court style affair in an expensive hotel here with people from Ottawa making the decision. Well, since I had little cash except for the house paid for but little money, I started selling everything until I had only the shack, but in the wait, it was a sad that I had to sell all my prized stuff. I get only enough to pay the bills to keep the house going and have very little left. The gov't has a "cap" on what they pay no matter how long works. Then they take taxed off that and that hurts...I get less than a disabled person on welfare. Well, all I ask is for a piece of old transceiver to transmitter gear. I have one crystal left for 7.050 and running a transmitter and receiver would get me back on the air again. I miss HF badly, real bad. A ham donated me an old Panasonic RF2900 for shortwave listening, but it could be use for ham as well and has a bfo. So, I'm wondering if anyone could help me in this dilemna. A donation would be awful nice, but for money I'd have penny pinch or sell something I've claimed from the lanes where people throw stuff out and "display" it in the lane for people to take or got some articles free on freecycle.org .
